At long last, it has returned! That’s what most players said when they saw this news. And here’s the thing: Valve has finally added an updated and slightly reworked “Train” map to the game, but besides that, they’ve added a lot of other interesting stuff to the game!
So, let’s find out together what’s new in the game!
In article you will find:
Certainly, let’s talk about the incredible news for many. The news is that the old “Train” map is back in the game and is now available to play. The map designers and creators not only reworked the map for the new CS2 but also added many interesting innovations.
One of the most important features of the map is rain. Yes, Valve dared to add weather conditions to the map, namely active rain, which covers your weapon with drops and, therefore, visually changes the skins significantly. It looks very cool, especially in combination with the lighting mechanics in CS2.
The only question remains whether this rain will harm players with weak hardware. After all, many players already play with a not-very-high FPS, and during the rain, it can be very low. So it’s just a matter of testing and time, and we will definitely try to answer this question later.
Not only were the weather conditions on the map changed, but some positions were also altered. For instance, the up-down area was modified, and several intriguing positions players can now jump on were added.
The trains’ location has also been changed, so players accustomed to the old map will need to adapt a bit and understand how to play on this new map. However, an interesting fact is that now, all the carriages have different colors on the minimap, allowing players to understand their positioning on the map better.
We can already imagine players shouting in the voice chat: “Behind the blue one! Behind the blue one!
In addition to Train, new maps were added to the game you haven’t seen before! Namely: Palais, Basalt, Edin, and Whistle.
You can learn more about them in the game, so make sure to update the game right after you finish reading this.
But as you can see in the pic, there’s another map – Overpass, so let’s chat about it in more detail below!
Now, let’s talk about the Overpass changes. Valve didn’t change the map much, but they worked well on its lighting. The map is brighter, and all the dark areas on the map are better lit. Now, you will definitely see the enemy hiding in a dark corner.
The most noticeable change is that the developers removed the water from the passage from terrorists to the B bombsite. Currently, the water mechanics are a bit heavy and cause a big loss of FPS especially on Ancient.
Below is a comment from one of the map developers.
Valve continues to delight players and fix their old mistakes. It’s truly inspiring and shows that they really value their game and the opinions of their users. So, this update turned out to be really cool and incredibly interesting. Hurry up, update the game, and see these amazing new maps yourself!
